Book Exchange Delights!

December 18, 2015 by bonnie 5 Comments

I received an amazing package in the mail several days ago, but I let things like grading and procrastinating take up my energy. Today, I finally forced myself out of my vortex, and what you have is a selfie with some glorious, glorious books. The awesome Malin gifted me with John Irving’s A Prayer for Owen Meany, Jenny Lawson’s Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, and Brent Week’s Night Angel Trilogy #1 The Way of Shadows. All three have been on my to-read list for some […]

THANK YOU Mathildehoeg!

December 18, 2015 by Ale 2 Comments

A big shout out to Mathildehoeg for my awesome book exchange presents! I’ve already plowed right through “Trouble” and will be doing an annotated reading on “Atonement” for one of my MFA classes this spring. How she knew “Atonement” was one of my favorite stories, we’ll never know!   A review of both coming shortly!

A new book I’m happy to give a good home!

December 17, 2015 by faintingviolet 2 Comments

Many thanks to Captain Tuttle for my wonderful new book. I was so excited to recieve it that it went immediately on the bookcase in a place of honor, and I forgot to take its picture and post here. Now for the new year’s resolution to read the books I’ve received the past two years as part of book exchange. Outlander, your time has come… once I get done reading about RBG. 🙂

A delightful present under the tree, just for me

December 17, 2015 by scootsa1000 1 Comment

Just look at what I got in the mail from the lovely faintingviolet! Bunnybean and Joemyjoe forbid me to open this until Christmas Eve, but I think I’ll sneak a chocolate before then. Thank you, and happy holidays!!

And scary ghosts stories from Christmases long, long ago!

A HUGE thank you to Nate Haas for my wonderful books! He not only picked great reads for me (the Atkinson in particular I’ve wanted my hands on for ages), but included a super cute magnet and Oscar Wilde quotation card. And Nate – the haiku you wrote was adorable, not offensive – it takes a lot more than that to make me uncomfortable! 🙂

I am a lazy (thankful) bum!

All of the thanks to Beth Ellen for my lovely present!  (She took the hint that the book I wanted most was on the top of my list!)  Books, hot chocolate, and a lovely note, what could be better than that?  (I got this in the mail almost a week ago, and forgot to post it until now!)
