Book Gifts are the Best Kind of Gifts

December 6, 2015 by MsWas 2 Comments

Many thanks to scootsa1000 for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlandish Companion, Volume Two. I can’t wait to read it! Big thanks to @scootsa1000 for my #cbr7 #giftexchange! I <3 it!!!! A photo posted by @mswas on Dec 5, 2015 at 8:47am PST And if you’re an Outlander fan and have not read the first volume, I highly recommend it. It covers the first three books, so make sure you’re past that point before you read it, to avoid any spoilers.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

December 5, 2015 by Quorren 4 Comments

Thanks to the totally awesome and amazing KatSings, I now have two new books gracing my library shelves!  I suppose I could have waited until Christmas to open them, but one already has a slight tear in the paper, so I just helped it along.  🙂  I am super excited; this is a series and an author I’ve heard a lot about, but haven’t gotten around to diving into yet and now I have no excuse!  Thank you, KatSings!     (I also want to […]

Book Exchange Book 2 – Delicious Mystery

October 22, 2015 by cheerbrarian Leave a Comment

This was my second book given to me this year for the Pajiba Cannonball Read Book Exchange.  My benefactor picked two in my “to read” list off of Goodreads, and gave this one a glowing recommendation, and they were not wrong!! This was a real page turner, I was obsessed with seeing how it all played out!  Missing children, murder, detective partners with secret histories, the wood with its own secrets of present and past.   At its roots the story isn’t that complex, and […]

A CBR book exchange book finds its mark.

March 24, 2015 by narfna 22 Comments

First off, Malin gave me this book as part of the 2014 CBR book exchange. This is the first of the multiple books I received in that book exchange, and the one the year before, that I’ve actually gotten to (although, I have at least three more planned to read for later this year–thanks, Malin!). For the past couple of years, my romance reading has pretty much been “Courtney Milan,” also thanks to Malin (and Mrs. Julien), but after reading A Week to be Wicked, […]

A wonderful start to 2015

January 4, 2015 by Malin 7 Comments

I had the most wonderful surprise waiting for me when I got back from two weeks in the UK. Well, we had random patches of cat vomit spread around the flat as a loving Christmas gift from our two cats, who we callously abandoned to be fed and looked after by various friends and family members, but I also had a package waiting for me on the living room table. So after feeding the demanding furry dictators we pretend are our pets and cleaning up […]
