Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

CBR Bingo: Cold I’ve been tearing through Nalini Singh’s Psy Changeling novels. Kiss of Snow is the tenth book in the original series. Using this for the “Cold” square due to “Snow” in the title. But also down to the cold nature of the Psy in this world. I highly recommend you read the other nine books before this one. The tension between the love interests has been building across multiple books. So many fans say this is their favorite one. The hype level was […]

An unintentional Mercy Thompson reading binge.

Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs

CBR Bingo: Series I usually take my time with my urban fantasy series. I like to savor them and read a few worlds at a time. To not let the reviews pile up (again), I usually read one or two books in a row. Not this go round. I’ve read five in a row for the OG Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I’ve also fallen in love with the first three books in the spin-off Alpha & Omega series. Once I got going, it […]

Listen, I promise they won’t all be this long, but I had FEELINGS about this one. Mate Set by Laurann Dohner Story: 0 stars Narrator: 4.5 stars WARNING 1: CONSENT ISSUES WARNING 2: SPOILERS WARNING 3: I’D HAVE THROWN THIS BOOK IF IT HADN’T BEEN AN AUDIOBOOK I WAS PLAYING ON MY PHONE

“Telling her best friends about accidentally summoning a goddess, being named her priestess, and being blessed with the ability to breathe fire wasn’t something that Kenna would like to repeat”

Forged in Flames by Ali Williams

I’d read some of the author’s contemporary romances before so when I found out she had a shifter romance coming out? Heck yes! And it’s absolutely delightful, with a strong heroine and the exact opposite of an alphahole hero. It’s no exaggeration to say that Kenna is very surprised when the statue she’s working on suddenly turns into Belisama, a goddess she’s never heard of, and proclaims that she’s her priestess. But the blacksmith figures she can just shrug it off and finish off the […]

Deeper into the Psy-Changeling world I go

Branded by Fire (Psy-Changeling, #6) by Nalini Singh

Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling, #7) by Nalini Singh

Bonds of Justice (Psy-Changeling, #8) by Nalini Singh

Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh

I’m completely hooked on Nalini Singh’s expansive Psy-Changeling universe. In this near-future world, the psy run the world with cool efficiency. They have powers ranging from telekinesis to foresight. The Psy have shunned all emotion with the Silence protocol. Any psy who shows emotion is reconditioned, which means a full lobotomy level brain wipe. They go to such extremes because their powers have driven people to homicidal rampages. At the start of the series, a Psy council member wants to partner with the San Francisco […]

Bayou love and magical mischief

Love and Other Wild Things by Molly Harper

Love and Other Wild Things is the second book in the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper. Said bayou deep in Louisana attracts magical beings. The town is near a mysterious rift that’s catnip to shifters, witches, and any other magic being that you name. Decades ago humans and magi settled in Mystic Bayou. They mostly live in harmony. Through the series, we meet scientists who have come to observe and research the unique place. In the first book, How to Date Your Dragon, an […]
