The Great Puptective V03 The Big Mousetake by Alina Tysoe

The Great Puptective V03 The Big Mousetake by Alina Tysoe is a cute third story in her Puptective series and has lots and lots of fun extras.  Oh, I probably should introduce the series. If you are not familiar with the Great Puptective series (book one is The Great Puptective and volume two Purranormal Activity) you should read them first. While book three is a bit of a standalone title, you’re going to want to have read all the books about this precocious pup and […]

Very Cute Middle Grade Fantasy Graphic Novel

My Sister the Werebeast by Alina Tysoe

by Leave a Comment

This is a very cute middle grade graphic novel that hits many of the themes I enjoy — school narrative, siblings having to work together, magic, and actually supportive adults so that the kids don’t have to do things all on their own. Mira and Rosie have been left to look after their little sister, Peanut, while their parents are off on an adventuring expedition. This is a world in which there used to be magic, but it supposedly vanished hundreds of years ago after […]

The Real Puppy Power

The Great Puptective V01 by Alina Tysoe

Cloud Puppy V01 by Kelly Leigh Miller

I like trying to get all the Bingo categories as “pure” as possible. Even if I go with the spirit of things. And don’t like using Free Space if I can help it. It’s just a fun challenge for me. But I had the hardest  time with Fan Fiction. But eventually I found one that fit perfectly! And since the category is way out of my wheelhouse, I was very excited! I wasn’t going to have to use my FREE SPACE. But I could have […]

If you have followed What’s Up Beanie on Instagram or WebToons you know what a loveable stinker Alina Tysoe’s characters can be. In Emi Isn’t Scared of Monsters we have her signature style come alive when a young girl gets ready for bed. Flashlight? Check! Her dog Cookie? Check! Helmet? Check! Wait a minute, a helmet? Yes! Emi needs a helmet as she is getting ready to not sleep but keep an eye out for monsters!  Baiting her trap, she and Cookie prepare for Monster […]

I’m a cat person, Beanie, but I still love you.

What’s Up Beanie?: Acutely Relatable Comics by Alina Tysoe

by Leave a Comment

When you see the title, What’s Up Beanie?: Acutely Relatable Comics and only see the word Beanie as that was the nickname of your best friend growing up (we meet the night before the first day of kindergarten and in true kid form the next day we said, “I know you! You’re my friend!” and the rest was BFFs for several years and a around 40-year off/on friendship) you know you must pick it up. The book starts with Baby Beanie, a four-year-old who comes […]
