The Great Puptective V03 The Big Mousetake by Alina Tysoe is a cute third story in her Puptective series and has lots and lots of fun extras.
Oh, I probably should introduce the series. If you are not familiar with the Great Puptective series (book one is The Great Puptective and volume two Purranormal Activity) you should read them first. While book three is a bit of a standalone title, you’re going to want to have read all the books about this precocious pup and her friends as there is some background to help you. But the basic plot point is that our pup is a detective, and she’s the best in the world. If you don’t believe that, just ask her! She has more confidence than a barrel full of confident monkeys.
So, of course that means she gets into situations. Yet, she somehow also gets out of those situations, too. It just takes some time. Each adventure she has somehow always goes sideways, but she always comes out of it with a wagging tail and a happy yip in her oversized-naive heart. This time around, our pup wants to save the party their owner is making. Of course, the cat wants quiet and will do whatever they can to make sure they can sleep and not deal with things. So when the villainous mice want to steal the cheese cake it’s a batter of … I mean battle of wits. Hilarious highjinks happen, some interesting things happen and everyone gets a surprise.
The author is the creator of Beanie webcomics along with several books and the standalone title, My Sister the Werebeast: A Graphic Novel (which somehow I’ve missed and not read. Yet.)
(This was read as an online reader copy as it was not out at the time, but as of this publication of this review, it is).
