So, I did a full Grishaverse read in the past few months. I read Six of Crows a few months ago, and my review is on my profile earlier in this Cannonball. I was so excited that there were so many more books in this universe! My featured image is fan art by artist Kevin Wada: Kevin Wada | The Grishaverse | Fandom I just randomly found it Googling around and thought it was beautiful!! Six of Crows #2: Crooked Kingdom is the second book […]

Entrapment

Entrapment is a surprisingly fun Novel from one of Pajiba’s own

Entrapment by Jeff Stephens

September 24, 2026 by MegsDarcy 2 Comments

Well… I clearly need to stop thinking “I’ll just read a few chapters before bed” because apparently I have learned nothing. I received the book as an ARC after work and read it until I was finished well into the night. If you enjoy thrillers with complicated women, workplace drama, morally messy characters, romance, and enough twists to keep you suspicious of basically everyone, this is definitely one to add to the list. Entrapment was such a fun surprise for me. I didn’t really know […]

The Invisible Roommate

The pros and cons of disappearing from the world

The Invisible Roommate by Timothy Janovsky

September 24, 2026 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I have enjoyed almost everything Timothy Janovsky has written, and I’ve enjoyed watching him grow as a writer. Janovsky has always honored the deep and serious feelings aspects of his characters while leaning into the comedic elements of the plot. In The Invisible Roomate, Janovsky lightens the mood with humor, but he steers away from comedy. The Invisible Roommate utilizes gothic elements to echo the isolation Gerard and Emory feel. H. G. Wells’ The Invisible Man isn’t my favorite late 19th century science fiction novel, […]

The Thursday Murder Club is Back!!

The Impossible Fortune (Thursday Murder Club #5) by Richard Osman

September 24, 2026 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I don’t know if it says something about me, or something about Richard Osman, but I find these “murder club” books immensely comforting. I read the first four and I didn’t even know there was a new book out until I saw it on Audible. It was the correct choice to listen to the audiobook too, because Fiona Shaw is the narrator. She is the PERFECT person to narrate this series. I’m just going through my Goodreads and I have no earthly idea if I […]

A Map for Falasteen: A Palestinian Child's Search for Home by Maysa Odeh

September 23, 2026 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

If you are looking at a map of the United States, you expect to see each of the 50 states. And sometimes Puerto Rico and Washington DC. You might not see the breakdown of the state you are from, but you know you are there. You see a map of the world and you expect to see the United States there. But sometimes there are people who must look a little deeper to find their country of origin. Now, there are books about people. There […]

The bigger picture of witchcraft and wicca

Witchcraft: A Graphic History: Stories of wise women, healers and magic by Lindsay Squire

September 23, 2026 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

Part fiction and part non-fiction, Witchcraft: A Graphic History: Stories of wise women, healers and magic includes the history of one woman Biddy Early, (perhaps not well-known to today’s audience, but one of Ireland’s most famous witches). It is told as a story of how she helped her village, but still people feared her powers while in-between are parts the history of witch trials, tools of the trade, familiars, types of witches/witchcraft and more. Both historical people and women of mythology come to life as […]
