CBR15Passport Books I Own(it’s been sitting on my pile for over six months!)Wild Fairies V01 Daisy’s Decorating Dilemma is an adorable story about fairies, friendship, helping each other and asking for help. The science of nature sneaks into the tale in a fun manner and there is an afterwards that helps you learn more about the characters, but also a bit about the flowers they represent.
This is the first book (as it is volume one) in the Wild Fairies series by Brandi Dougherty. I had read book two (Lily’s Water Woes) first and you can mostly do it out of order (but book one does have an introduction role to play). I have not found an in-print book three, but hopefully there will be.
The sweet illustrations of Renee Kurilla give this book a “girly” stereotype look, but works for the tone of the story, which is an old school fairy story about friendship. Lots of colors, minimal details, and little gems here and there fill things out.
The story is known, Daisy and the other fairies (classic names like Poppy, Lily, and Thistle) are putting on the Blossom Bash. And they all want it to be the best bash, and maybe even better than the ones of previous years. Yet, little things keep going wrong. The two biggest ones are first the rain either canceling plans or making the blooms happen too soon, and the second, the theme of the bash cannot be controlled. Well, the theme can, but Daisy is not sure what to do as all her friends (and of course, herself) all have great ideas what is best. In the end, even though things are not “perfect” they work out the only way they can, which is absolutely awesome!
