Fangs by Sarah Andersen

July 6, 2022 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

There have been several coincidences lately. The most recent is I just found my Sarah’s Scribbles books by Sarah Andersen, then a few days later I found Fangs by them. Now that might not seem like a big deal, but I had not even thought about Andersen’s books in months (though I do have her weekly planner), and here I am getting bombarded by their wonderful work. I have not felt well for a few days (just the “summer blues” not due to sickness), but […]

It really is…

Adulthood is a Myth by Sarah Andersen

March 20, 2022 by Travis_J_Smith 1 Comment

Since I’m still trying to work my way back into the groove of reading, I felt that the safest option was probably more comics. They’re short, they’re light, and they require more attention to take them all in, due to their more visual nature. And Sarah Andersen’s collection, Adulthood is a Myth, sounded like the perfect first choice. Having grown up during the days of tumblr, I was all too familiar with “Sarah’s Scribbles.” Of all the popular webcomics, hers was always the one I […]

Alice, Wendy, and Dorothy walk into a bar… wait, that’s not right…

Cheshire Crossing by Andy Weir & Sarah Andersen

September 4, 2020 by crystalclear Leave a Comment

Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Wendy from Peter Pan, and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz have all had a rough go of it after their adventures in the stories.  And the stories we were told were not their only adventures.  No, these girls have grown up a bit and have spent more time in their respective other worlds.  Alice is bitter and angry, Wendy always carries a knife, and Dorothy has been subject to electroshock therapy, but that last bit is cannon, I think.  […]

Big Mushy Happy Lump by Sarah Andersen

May 20, 2019 by vel veeter 1 Comment

So let me explain this post first: sometimes I go to a bunch of libraries all in one day. Yesterday I went to four different libraries across two different divisions, a county and a city. And the goal of all this is to find a handful of audiobooks (books on cd) to rip onto my computer. I do this for two reasons: audiobooks make up about half of the books I read because I have a 30 minute commute each day plus I show up […]

Perfect Reading Choice for Carpet Installation

December 26, 2017 by Caitlin_D Leave a Comment

On Thursday we had carpeting installed in our three bedrooms and since all the furniture from those three rooms were stacked in my living room and dining room I was confined to my kitchen from about 10:30am to 2:30pm. In this time I unwrapped 72 candy canes and made about 80 ounces of peppermint bark for my husband and I’s coworkers, hostess gifts for holiday parties and Christmas Day. I also made 2 dozen cookies for good measure. With about an hour left before I […]

Not sure if I should laugh or cry

March 15, 2016 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

You’re all probably familiar with Sarah Andersen, even if you don’t realize it. Her adorable cartoons pop up all over the internet — I see them on Facebook all the time. They feature a slightly bedraggled young woman (college-age, would be my guess based on the cartoons) who’s usually struggling with one aspect of life or another.   Andersen has collected her cartoons in this cute little book (the text on the cover is fuzzy!). They’re all laid out with no text or commentary from the […]
