In this dumpster fire of a year, the most unexpected highlights in my 2020 turned out to be you, Cannonballers. Just this week, one of LanierHgts’s reviews garnered a comment from the author, Phyllis Fagell, saying that this review was the best thing that happened to her this week. And it’s all because LanierHgts read Middle School Matters. Every single time an author comments on a CBR review, it’s a thrill and really keeps me going; and so I thank you all from the bottom […]
2020 Book Exchange Registration Has Closed – Keep Your Eyes Out for Gift Posts! Each year Cannonball Read holds a (completely voluntary) Holiday Book Exchange, and we’re happy to continue the tradition in 2020. We know that this year hasn’t been easy on many of us and that purse strings may be a bit tighter than usual; but if you are able to join us in the fun of sending books to fellow readers, we are excited for you to join our end of […]
I’m thrilled to announce that thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate $1,350 to the American Cancer Society today. That’s the largest single donation we’ve ever made, and it brings our annual total to $1,675. Over all these years, we’ve donated $6,600 so far to the ACS in AlabamaPink’s name. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of my heart.
Congratulations to elemenopee, the winner of our 2019 33 Days of Giving Prize Pack! Thanks to everyone who donated to support our mission of sticking it to cancer one book at a time in our 33 Days of Giving fundraiser! In total we raised $1,750.00 – more than last year. Don’t forget though, we welcome donations year-round, and there are other ways to help support our mission.
I’ve seen and heard folks asking for stories of goodness, people’s best things from the week, or people who are doing some good out there to balance the craziness in the world, and every time I see something about that, I think of you. I think of you and all of the other Cannonballers and CBR supporters, because I’m thankful for each and every one of you!
