It’s the cheesiest

The Princess and the Grill Cheese Sandwich. by Deya Muniz

by Leave a Comment

CBR15Passport author   Warning: Included are two plot point and image spoilers! We have the puns of the cheesiest kind (all cheese puns) and a modern love story within the pages of The Princess and the Grill Cheese Sandwich. While things are all “Kings and Queens and Dukes and Duchesses” we have handheld video games, cute t-shirt and short ensembles, and other modern conveniences. The mixture of the old and new theme styles allows for the best of both worlds. We get glamours gowns and […]

Making friends wherever you go

Twice as Many Friends / El Doble de Amigos by Brian Amador

by Leave a Comment

CBR15Passport author Full disclosure, I did not access the audio and video links for Twice as Many Friends / El Doble de Amigos therefore, I cannot tell you anything about that. However, I do think that I would have enjoyed this book by Brian Amador, Vanina Starkoff and Sol y Canto more if I had heard it performed. This is not to say this book about friendship and how opening yourself up to other languages, places, and people is not good, it is terribly good. […]

And you thought you had some crappy chores and great friends

The Fabled Stables Book 1: Willa the Wisp by Jonathan Auxier

by Leave a Comment

CBR15Passport ownIn a book of the month subscription I had, the book The Fabled Stables Book 1: Willa the Wisp was a selection. The author Jonathan Auxier sounded familiar, and the art of Olga Demidova looked fun, so I decided to keep and read. However, I was never in the mood for a fantasy book about a blue rabbit (I did not really pay attention to the title, so now I know she is a wisp, not a rabbit), until the other day. I figured […]

I wrote a review about books I read

Diary of a Wimpy Kid V15 The Deep End by Jeff Kinney

Fairylight Friends V01 A Magic Spark by Jessica Young

by Leave a Comment

I know I can only use CBR15Passport own for one book, but I do own both of these titles Diary of a Wimpy Kid V15 The Deep End is one I picked up awhile back, and Fairylight Friends V01 A Magic Spark I have had a few copies of. This time, I read the one that came in a book of the month subscription I had. I think the other copy I read was from a return the store was (unfortunately) doing. Regardless of how […]

What’s in the trunk Adelaide?

Lone Women by Victor LaValle

by Leave a Comment

Adelaide Henry is a woman on the run. She is traveling to Montana to take advantage of the offer of free land to homesteaders regardless of gender, dragging only an enormous steamer trunk behind her. Adelaide isn’t the only lone woman in Montana with secrets. Can she escape her past? What happens if she stops trying? Little House on the Prairie this is not. I picked this book up on the strength of past works by this author that I’ve enjoyed and was not disappointed. […]

This should have been my tenth review of the year – not sure what happened there

The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik

by Leave a Comment

This is the concluding volume in a trilogy. It won’t really work for you unless you’ve read the previous two books. Start with A Deadly Education. Also, this review will contain spoilers for the previous book in the series, so proceed at your own risk if you’re not caught up. Galadriel “El” Higgins has done the impossible. She has not only made it out of the Scholomance with her entire graduating senior class, but with every other student in the school as well. Everyone is […]
