Sorority Madness

Finlay Donovan Crosses The Line by Elle Cosimano

May 12, 2026 by finnyfinfinn Leave a Comment

The problem with Vero’s advice not to go looking for chin hairs where there aren’t any is that there’s always a seven foot long chin hair to be found. She’s so young, she’ll learn mwuhahahaha… Also don’t go borrowing trouble is pretty good advice. But trouble is what Finlay Donovan is best at! In this book though, the focus is on intrepid nanny Vero Ruiz. This is the sixth book in the series so it’s not really an ideal place to jump in. But it […]

A Very Murdery Neighborhood

Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave by Elle Cosimano

July 7, 2025 by finnyfinfinn Leave a Comment

If we know one thing by now that Finlay Donovan is really good at, it’s digging a grave. Who’s it going to be this time? Mrs. Haggerty, nosy neighbor extraordinaire and self-appointed president of the neighborhood watch, is in trouble. A body has been discovered in her backyard and she’s been taken in for questioning. Finlay and Vero settle in for a nice relaxing time of minding their own business. But when all the evidence starts pointing at her ex-husband Steven, it’s a race for […]

A Caper That Fell Flat

Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

December 20, 2024 by RouletteGirl 1 Comment

Finley Donovan is a struggling single mother of two. Her jerk of an ex-husband is busy building the perfect life with his fiancee (and affair partner) and judging every mistake Finlay makes. Money is tight, he’s just fired the nanny, and Finlay is months behind on her overdue novel – and she’s already spent the advance. Finlay is overheard discussing the book – a murder mystery featuring an assassin – with her agent, and is mistaken for a contract killer herself. A desperate wife offers […]

Time to start putting this one to bed.

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun (Finlay Donovan, #3) by Elle Cosimano

March 29, 2023 by narfna Leave a Comment

We’re definitely experiencing diminishing returns with this series, but I’m still enjoying myself. I think I’m ready for it to have a definitive ending, though. I don’t want the author to beat this horse to death just because we keep buying the books out of remembered affection for how crazy good we thought book one was. To be honest, I no longer remember most of the details of the plot of this book. Finlay and Vero have to find out who EasyClean is (the hit […]

Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

Sigh I think I wanted to like this one more than I ended up actually liking it. It didn’t engross me enough to compel me to keep reading, but it was a nice change of pace. I think there’s something about cavalier murder of exhaustion or neglect that is off-putting to me. To be clear, in my real life I find all murder, of any form, off-putting! FBI agent, please disregard these musing and/or note that they are, in fact, about fiction– https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2… Well, moving […]

“He really does have very nice biscuits.”

Finlay Donovan Knockes 'Em Dead (Finlay Donovan, #2) by Elle Cosimano

April 27, 2022 by narfna 2 Comments

I love this series. I’m so happy there will be at least two more books full of wacky hijinks, dead body disposal, panicking over money, BFF frandship moments between Finlay and Vero, meta commentary, and I’m sure stuff I can’t even predict because this series is chaos. Beautiful chaos. Finlay Donovan, romantic suspense and crime author, keeps getting herself into these situations involving real life crime. It’s been several months since the first book, and it seems this time around, someone has taken a hit […]
