The Red Devil Rides Again

Red Sonja Volume 3: The Forgiving of Monsters by Gail Simone

May 14, 2022 by Halbs Leave a Comment

This third volume of Gail Simone’s stories about the Hyrkanian warrior wraps up the author’s fantastic run on Red Sonja series. Simone brings adventure, heart, and humor to a character that could easily be one dimensional in the wrong hands. She is kind of like Gronk in a chainmail bikini. (Thankfully, a hardcover collection of Simone’s run recently came out. I think all three volumes are of equal quality, so if you read the first one and enjoy it, just get the hardcover.) Volume three […]

Shaft! He’s one sad motha%@#*(

Shaft: Imitation of LIfe by David F. Walker

June 18, 2018 by Halbs Leave a Comment

Thankfully, Dynamite has release several of the Shaft storylines in trade […]

Red Sonja Can Wear What She Wants

Red Sonja: Queen of Plagues and The Art of Blood and Fire by Gail Simone, Walter Giovani

June 29, 2017 by Emmalita 2 Comments

The first thing you will notice about the cover is that Red Sonja has gone into battle in a bikini. Ah, the amazingly protective battle bikini. There is one reason that I am reading Red Sonja – Gail Simone. She did not disappoint me. Gail Simone’s Red Sonja is fierce and grumpy. Simone leans in to the ridiculous bikini armor early so that when she gets into the story, you aren’t thinking about it. Somehow, even with the bikini battle armor, Simone’s Red Sonja is […]
