The Cat, the Owl and the Fresh Fish by Nadine Robert
When reading the title I read, The Cat, the Owl and the Fresh Fish as “The Cat and Owl” making me think this was going to be an Owl and Pussycat remake. Was it going to be “modern” or keep to the classic format? Was it going to be long, short or…. Oh, wait it has this fish thing going on, too. Well maybe I will read then (I thought) as it is going to be different. It is not an Owl and Pussycat story. […]
The Twelve Cats of Christmas by Feather Flores
I admit, I do not like children or pets near Christmas trees. Not so much because they cause havoc (which they do) but for their own safety. And in The Twelve Cats of Christmas one of the things we see is how several cats do a lot of havoc and disregard safety! Feather Flores must have said one day, “Hey! I want to write a Christmas book and let us use cats in the Twelve Days of Christmas!” And we should be happy they did […]
My Very Own Special Particular Private and Personal Cat by Sandol Stoddard Warburg
My Very Own Special Particular Private and Personal Cat has a feeling of not being a contemporary story, but also has a contemporary theme. Some of those questions are harder to answer than others. But as for the cats, I say “No! No! A thousand times no!” […]
Bounce Back by Misako Rocks!
I picked up Bounce Back by Misako Rocks! several weeks ago, while I was in the vehicle waiting for someone to leave the grocery store. I did not get very far, so when I picked it up again a few days ago, I skimmed to remind myself what was going on. I realized I had missed pages and a couple plot points. So, not off to a good start for this cute book with diversity and contemporary themes. But I got into the swing of […]
