Not as much bang for the bosh

Bosh! On a Budget by Henry Firth, Ian Theasby

June 11, 2022 by CoffeeShopReader 1 Comment

Several years ago (pre-pandemic) I’d been to the UK for business, and gotten hooked on the Tesco (major grocery chain over there) lunch combo (sandwich, chips, and drink) with a specific sandwich: the Ploughman’s lunch. Really Hoping The Food is as Good as it Looks

The Korean Vegan Cookbook by Joanne Lee Molinaro

October 17, 2021 by CoffeeShopReader 1 Comment

This might be the first cookbook I’ve preordered; I’m pretty sure that I actually ordered it months ago, and forgot when it was supposed to come out. Then came the shipping notice, and then The Korean Vegan Cookbook. This is actually almost a coffee table book give that it’s a glossy hard cover with lots of pretty pictures. That said, it also looks like it will be a lot of interesting fun to work through. Not only are the recipes pretty doable in terms of […]

I read them in the late 1980s/early 90s too. They were my first romances.

I read my way through her books, and those of Kathleen Woodiwiss and Shirley Busbee, in the 1980s and 'bonkers'...

I really enjoyed this one. I was particularly amused at Lady Catherine deBoutgh’s disgust at her assassin’s incompetence.
