How Did You Get This Number by Sloane Crosley

December 3, 2014 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

This collection of essays by Sloane Crosley begins with a spur-of-the-moment trip she takes to Portugal, and how incredibly lonely she was there (until she meets some clowns, of course). I Was Told There’d Be Cake by Sloane Crosley

October 6, 2014 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

March 18, 2014 by popcultureboy 2 Comments

I admit, a good 90% of the reason I wanted to read this book was the title. It’s a genius, a masterstroke in fact. But ultimately it turned out to be, if not quite the high point of the book, it was certainly one of the very few noteworthy moments. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this, but when something is described as “wry, hilarious and profoundly genuine” and has a gushing jacket quote from A.M. Homes, well, you’re setting the bar terribly high […]

I felt the same way. Interesting concept, but the execution was lacking.

on Sometimes, a book cover promises cats and lies. This book, on the other hand, delivers in spades. SO many cats, guys.
