Treasure

Treasure by Rebekah Weatherspoon

March 16, 2022 by Classic Leave a Comment

Trigger warning: Discussions surrounding suicide This was a wonderful F/F Black romance. I needed this apparently. The characters of Alexis and Trisha are great. My only complaint is that this was way too short. “Treasure” follows 18 year old Alexis Chambers, who is out with her sister for her bachelorette party. The group decides to go to a strip club, and Alexis feels self conscious, until she sees a young woman named Treasure. Alexis is gay, but is still hesitant about that part of herself, […]

I Loved This Book

A Thorn in the Saddle by Rebekah Weatherspoon

October 11, 2021 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I loved this book so much. I have enjoyed Rebekah Weatherspoon’s Cowboy’s of California series. I wasn’t at all sure how she was going to top the amazing middle book, If the Boot Fits, but she did. A Thorn in the Saddle is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It has a man with a temper, a daughter defending her father, and a couple who face their fears to be brave for one another. Jesse has been the brother hanging out in his younger brothers’ […]

I need a Rafe of my own

Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny by Rebekah Weatherspoon

November 22, 2020 by teresaelectro 3 Comments

Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny by Rebekah Weatherspoon is a delightful romance that doesn’t skimp on the heat factor. Our heroine, Dr. Sloan Copeland, has recently moved to Los Angeles with her twin daughters. She left behind a crazy ex to start her life on her own terms. When her nanny unexpectedly quits, she is really in a bind. She is a surgeon and can be stuck at the hospital for long hours. Thankfully, Rafe comes into her life at the right time. The previous […]

Tex, if there’s anything I love more than playing Russian roulette with your standard case of rabies it’s storytelling

If the Boot Fits by Rebekah Weatherspoon

October 8, 2020 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I am certainly not a Rebekah Weatherspoon expert, but If the Boot Fits feels like the most comfortable book she has written. I don’t know if it’s the one I’m the most comfortable with, or if she’s comfortably in her authorial stride. Either way, everything about this worked for me. Her Cowboys of Charming series has a lot less steam than her self published books, but she doesn’t skimp on the heat between Amanda and Sam. Best of all, she hasn’t toned down her amazing […]

Finding Safe Harbor

Harbor by Rebekah Weatherspoon

July 2, 2020 by Emmalita 7 Comments

Yesterday a magazine posted an article about how we should read romances during this pandemic because they are dumb and will give our brains a break. I had just finished reading Rebekah Weatherspoon’s Harbor (Beards and Bondage) and wanted to cry in frustration. There is nothing dumb about this book, and even if it were pure porny fluff, if it accomplishes the goal of helping the reader cope – it is not dumb. There are so many amazing, smart writers in romance today. Rebekah Weatherspoon […]
