Denesteak! You’ve participated in Cannonball Read off and on almost since the very beginning. We’re so glad you’re back with us for CBR17. Would you share a little about how you came to be a part of the CBR community and what your screen name means? I’ve been part of the Pajiba community since the early 2000s, and I remember AlabamaPink fondly in the comment section, as well as Prisco. I joined CBR2 because I thought it would be a nice way to honor her […]
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: jormis takes us on a Hero’s Journey
Hi, Jormis! Thank you so much for agreeing to participate in Quick Questions with a Cannonballer. You’ve been participating for several years. While paging through your reviews, I realized that you have an extremely diverse collection of books that you’ve reviewed – everything from Maeve Binchy to pretty hardcore sci-fi. Do you have an absolute favorite genre? What do you consider to be the best representation of that genre? My absolute favourite genre is fantasy, followed closely by science fiction. In some of the best […]
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: Jenny S. coaches for a better tomorrow
Jenny S., can you believe you’ve been reading and writing reviews for 10 years as part of Cannonball Read? Thank you for your dedication! Do you remember how you found your way to the Cannonball Read community? Yikes! Has it really been that long? My sister, Sara, was (and still is) a reader of Pajiba and she sent me the call for CBR in January of 2014. I had been writing reviews on Goodreads since 2007, but I thought, “Hey! F*** Cancer.” The rest is […]
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: Debcapsfan’s own Miracle on Ice
Katie71483, here. I don’t usually do this, but I’m inserting a little note from me to start this interview off. Sometimes you just can’t anticipate where an interview is going to go, and this is absolutely one of those times. You could probably be excused for thinking what you are about to read from Debcapsfan is actually an inspirational Disney sports movie. I feel so fortunate to be able to share her family’s miracle with all of you. Debcapsfan, welcome to Quick Questions with a […]
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: Solving Crimes with Zirza
Hi, Zirza! You’ve been participating in CBR for TEN YEARS! That’s amazing. Please tell us a little bit about where your screen name came from.
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: CoffeeShopReader
Do you have a favorite genre and, if so, what is it? Can I have 2-ish? First up would have to be sci-fi/fantasy/speculative. I know that’s not exactly a single genre, but some of my favorites really do end up combining, like the Checquy Files (?although the third says the series is now the Rook Files) series, most anything non-horror by P. Djeli Clark, and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series (I’ve read the whole thing), I’ve also been drifting slightly towards the cozy side of things, such […]
