What are we?………Werewolves, not Swearwolves.

March 3, 2016 by ingres77 12 Comments

Last year, I read the Old Man’s War series by John Scalzi, and struggled to put together reviews for the latter books. After awhile, there really isn’t much to say when every book in a series is as consistently good and enthralling as the ones that preceded it. So, with The Dresden Files (which I plan on reading in its entirety), I’m just going to throw a bunch of reviews into a few posts. Here are the first couple: Fool Moon (Book 2) – 4 […]

Vonnegut’s little war book.

February 9, 2016 by narfna 21 Comments

There are almost no characters in this story, and almost no dramatic confrontations, because most of the people in it are so sick and so much the listless playthings of enormous forces. One of the main effects of war, after all, is that people are discouraged from being characters.” So basically everyone I’ve ever talked to has read this book before me, and I’m kinda pissed off about that. Why didn’t y’all tell me I needed to read this? I know most people had to […]

September 15, 2014 by Valyruh 3 Comments

Dresden is not only back from the dead—having spent an entire novel as a ghost!—but he is back with more guilty angst over endangering his friends and loved ones than ever before. The Winter faerie queen Mab still has her claws in Harry, and forces him to work with his worst enemy Nicodemus to pay off her debt to the scary dude. The job entails ripping off a certain Greek god of the underworld, no small task even for Harry. And, of course, that means […]

Don’t Turn Your Back!

January 17, 2014 by Sweetpsychosis Leave a Comment

If anyone can come up with a better title feel free. It was much easier when the title was the name of the book! I am assuming that anyone reading this review knows well of Harry Dresden as this is book 11, but I hate to be exclusive, so anyone reading this who doesn’t I shall nutshell it for you: PI Wizard working in modern-day chicago fighting many life and world threatening supernatural foes; wisecracking hero with big heart, think Indiana Jones has a child […]
