There Will Be a Feast

December 14, 2018 by Emmalita 1 Comment

Do you even know how much I heart narfna? I knew I was in for a treat when her name was on the paper that fell out of Salt Fat Acid Heat. Speaking of Salt Fat Acid Heat, I watched the 4 episode Netflix series and I recommend it, even if cooking shows aren’t your thing. Samin Nosrat is such a joy. I have read the many positive reviews of Circe and I am so excited about reading it. I asked and narfna provided.

Thank you, mathildehoeg!!!

December 13, 2018 by bonnie 4 Comments

It has been a long semester (case in point: I’m 50 reviews behind, and am currently typing this on my phone at the dealership, because my husband’s trusty car has finally given up the ghost). So thanks to magical Christmas elf mathildehoeg for impeccable timing and beautiful gifts. I look forward to reading both books (the authors are both on my TBR list) and coloring in the activity book–how did you know I love to color??? Thank you, mathildehoeg!!!!

Demons, and the Devil — Book Exchange!

December 13, 2018 by sistercoyote 3 Comments

Came home to a nice package in my mailbox, and these two lovely gifts from Malin! I might already have started reading Silver in the Road last night before deciding I should put it away so I could, you know. Sleep. And the Picture of Dorian Grey is probably my favorite thing Oscar Wilde wrote, so Creatures of Will and Temper looks to be an interesting re-imagining. Thank you, Malin!

Thank you, Jenny S!

December 13, 2018 by narfna 7 Comments

Came home to a rather heavy package from Amazon last night, and found that Jenny S had sent me My Favorite Thing is Monsters, and just in time! I have this on my list for next week, and was going to get it out of the library. She also sent me The Drifter, which I’ve never heard of before but will definitely be reading now, and some Mexican hot chocolate, for her family’s tradition of Jólabókaflóðið. (I make all my hot chocolate Mexican anyway, so this […]

Thank you, Bunnybean, these are going to the top of my TBR!

December 11, 2018 by Dome'Loki 5 Comments

Wall-E’s lack of enthusiasm is by no means a reflection of my attitude, I’m super excited!  Thank you, Bunnybean, for sending The Language of Thorns and Six of Crows.  TLoT has been on my “wish-list” and SoC has been on my “recommended by friends-list” and I had no idea they were by the same author, Leigh Bardugo, until I put my suggestions in the gift exchange form. I’m delighted to hear that your house highly recommends Bardugo and looking forward to reading them. Wishing you a joyful […]

As a long-time nonprofit professional, I'm intrigued at the mixing of fantasy and fundraising. Plus, what a gorgeous cover!

I remember enjoying this one. And you’ve reminded me that I have an arc for the third book.

I haven’t read this one but I got sucked into vampires early, probably around 2nd grade with a kids series...
