The Name Game by Beth O’Leary

The Name Game by Beth O'Leary

March 15, 2026 by Classic Leave a Comment

Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review. So this is honestly a weird one. I can’t give it 5 stars cause there’s a messy twist that actually just messed up the entire book for me towards the 80 percent mark (via my e-reader) and I had to go back and re-read some perspectives and it just frustrated me a bit because I was still confused and then I had to re-read parts of this book […]

The Return Journeys (The Road Trip, #1.5)

The Return Journeys (The Road Trip, #1.5) by Beth O'Leary

December 29, 2022 by Classic Leave a Comment

Wow. Only 10 pages long, but this actually made me like Marcus. Who knew. Seriously though, this was funny. If you haven’t read “The Road Trip” you won’t get this at all, but this takes place after the wedding. A great way to follow up with Addie and Dylan. I seriously wanted to read more when I was done with this. The main reason why I didn’t give this one 5 stars, is it just feels like a very abrupt ending. Think another chapter with […]

Tiffy and Leon’s Christmas Letters (The Flatshare, #1.5)

Tiffy and Leon's Christmas Letters (The Flatshare, #1.5) by Beth O'Leary

December 29, 2022 by Classic Leave a Comment

Great letters showing us Tiffy and Leon after they get together. It really does bring me back to “The Flatshare” and how much I loved that first book. I also loved the little nods we get about Richie and someone “you know who” that he ends up sleeping with. I really wish that we had gotten more extras, but cannot be greedy.

The No-Show

The No-Show by Beth O'Leary

I struggled with this review and rewrote it four times. I went back and forth between 1 and 3 stars and finally in the end just settled on 1 star because this book as a whole was a mess. I think what took the cake is that this book is a really bad mystery/tragedy marketed as a romance novel. Romance readers get yelled at about this all the time, but a romance novel at its core needs to have a happily ever after or a […]

Freaky Friday without the magic

The Switch by Beth O'Leary

April 5, 2021 by Nart Leave a Comment

Do you need a gentle, low stakes story with zero surprises to get you through a brain fog? Have I got the book for you. Plot: Leena’s sister died last year after a protracted battle with cancer and she has not handled it well. In fact, she’s handling it poorly enough that her work, some consulting company, insists on her taking a paid 2 month sabbatical to get her head on straight. Her grandmother Eileen is also reeling from her husband of 50 years leaving […]

Oh No There Is Only oNe BeD???

The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary

February 11, 2021 by wicherwill Leave a Comment

CW: mentions of (past) emotional abuse After a series of books that were either meh or abandoned for not being engaging enough to warrant staying up late (a litmus test that is terrible from the perspective of my sleep schedule but very effective), I’m glad to note that this book has broken the streak! Is it that surprising that well-written romance novels tend to break my streaks? Perhaps it is because they are emotion-forward novels where the main characters solve their issues via communication, and […]
