A long-awaited book, not my favorite, but still worth the wait.

After the Wedding (The Worth Saga, #2) by Courtney Milan

I was underwhelmed by the first book in this series when it was published in 2015, and to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed by this one, although it’s a definite improvement. My main complaint with Once Upon a Marquess was that it was too scattered, and the main characters individually and as a couple suffered for it. I also thought their chemistry was a little forced. Both of those complaints were non-existent for me, here. And where I found little sister Theresa an annoyance in the first book, honestly she was my favorite part of this one. (I […]

The importance of choosing and being chosen in return

After the Wedding by Courtney Milan

June 6, 2018 by Malin 6 Comments

I was very kindly granted an ARC of this book in return for an unbiased review. I had already pre-ordered the book when I was given the ARC. The book is on sale now, and I recommend that you buy it. This is the second novel in The Worth Saga. While it might work fine as a stand alone book, I would recommend beginning with the first book in the series, Once Upon a Marquess, to get a better idea of whom all the various supporting characters from Camilla’s family are. Lady Camilla Worth was twelve when her father and oldest brother were […]

To be someone’s choice

After the Wedding by Courtney Milan

May 7, 2018 by Jen K Leave a Comment

It’s been quite a while since the previous novel in The Worth Saga was released, and while I remembered the main story about the family’s downfall due to the father’s treason and two protagonists reconnecting after years of estrangement, I had actually forgotten my reaction to some of the characters until I saw an old comment I had made on Malin’s Goodreads review.  Apparently, Theresa, the youngest sister, had seriously grated my nerves in the first one. Milan obviously toned her down quite a bit since I did not have that reaction at all while reading this novel. Of course, […]

I Deserve a Slow Falling in Love.

After the Wedding by Courtney Milan

April 23, 2018 by emmalita 9 Comments

As a cherry on the sundae of a wonderful week, I received an advance reader copy of After the Wedding by Courtney Milan, in exchange for an honest review. I can say honestly that I love it. I love Camilla and Adrian. Happily ever after is built into the genre, it is a given. We know before we open the book that Camilla and Adrian will fall in love. The joy of reading Romance is seeing exactly how the author takes us down this familiar path. Courtney Milan gives us two lovely characters, a cause worth fighting for, and supporting characters […]
