January 8, 2022 by ingres77 12 Comments

We’ve wrapped up yet another year of the Cannonball Read! Everyone give yourself a pat on the back for all that you’ve reviewed, and remember to give yourself a pass for the things that you didn’t review. There’s no pressure, here. I want to make this more aesthetically digestible, but it’s late and I’m tired. So I’ll just cut the introduction short. There were 5,394 reviews written for CBR13. That’s a record! Of those reviews, there are 3,097 unique books/stories. Our top 10 (14) most […]

Last Donation of 2021

January 1, 2022 by MsWas Leave a Comment

I’m so pleased to tell you that due to an end of year fundraising push, we were able to donate an additional $240.00 to the American Cancer Society. They had a matching grant at the time, so our donation dollars were doubled! And with Bothari43’s donation in December being doubled by her employer, Cannonball Read’s donations to ACS this year came to $1080. That brings our total donations to $9,655.   We at Cannonball Read are so grateful for all of our supporters and participants, […]

Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: Jenna

December 14, 2021 by Bothari43 6 Comments

Your bio says your favorite genre is “takes place in an old hotel.” I love the specificity of that! Do you have a favorite “old hotel” book, or one that you think best represents the genre? I think anything Agatha Christie wrote set in a hotel or boarding house (most recently, I read N or M?) exemplifies what I love about hotel stories. There are always secret nooks and crannies, everyone knows more than they let on, and time is always of the essence because […]
