In 2022 the book How to Party Like a Snail came out. Two years later How to Staycation Like a Snail arrived. In September 2026 we had the fourth book, How Not to Rescue a Snail and October 2025 gave us the third installment with How to Be Brave Like a Snail. All four books are created by Naseem Hrab and the illustrations are done by Kelly Collier. If you are familiar with the first two, skip to the next few lines; if not, continue reading. Snail is the kind of person, or snail, who has issues. They have social anxiety, worries about little things, are not brave, and have some kind of an adventure … but you know not too much. Snail is just a typical kid learning the ropes.
With the two new picture books, we get more of Snail and their introverted life. However, this time well, he really goes out on a limb and takes a little action to save his Granny Snail and figures out how to be a good loser, winner and friend during the paper airplane contest. It is all good fun and the old school fan will be enjoying these adventures. But, you can be a newbie to the world of Snail (and his friends) as well. Yet, I do recommend reading the first two as a few people are introduced that help explain who and why they are in the second two.
The images can be assumed by the covers. Personally, I neither love nor dislike them. They are what Collier needed to accompany the text of Hrab. They are simple, sweet, have humor and keep things light and bright. Granted, Snail is not my favorite series, but I appreciate it and know they have a big following, so enjoy these two soon.
