Bunny in the Middle by Linda Olafsdottir is my cbr18bingo Bingo Middle square. First, there is Middle in the title. Second, the bunny in question is introduced when they show up in the middle of the floor/room. Third, we find ourselves in the middle of an adventure; well multiple ones as our main character finds herself exploring different books. Finally, it is due in the middle of February 2027 Therefore, take your pick which Bingo Middle works for you.
And now that you are almost in the middle of the review, we’ll start the actual review. Our main character is off to bed, she sees a bunny, follows the bunny into the middle of the first story, and then off to the next and next and so forth. Each time you are given a hint via the realistic and almost abstract images. The cover gives you a good idea of colors, but sometimes the actual image is a bit “dreamy” and not totally “fleshed out” to see minute details. The things (SPOILER) you need to look for include various rabbits, a girl and rabbit, a basket and a few other things. You will get the round up of the actual stories or ideas at the end of the book.
Things are not wow or not wow, but right in the middle. It is a cozy book. It is a sweet book. It is a little mysterious, but not a mystery. The images are colorful, but use darker colors and shadows well. It is a good mixture of creative elements. Read via an online reader copy.
