Sitting down to write up reviews for the books I’ve read lately, I realized that I never posted a thank you for the Book Exchange I received. (Almost two weeks ago, now. Red, my face is right now…)
I opened the box (which was thankfully fine inside, even though my mail deliverer apparently decided to use it in a game of kickball) to discover two beautiful wrapped packages and a lovely personalized card from ElCicco. One package contained Idolfire, which has been on my “Books to be Bought” list since it first came out and yet has kept getting shoved back down the list for other books (which I don’t understand, because it ticks all my boxes). The other contained The One Hundred Nights of Hero, which is apparently a graphic novel based on One Thousand and One Nights that I have somehow never heard of but looks utterly fascinating. (And also is apparently the source material for a movie I’ve kept seeing coming attractions for and have wanted to see but kept missing the title of.) So an extra-large thank you there; a book I cant’ wait to read, and the ability to finally put a title to a movie.
And in an added abetting of my (bad) addictions, ElCicco also included two bookmarks; one beautiful wooden one (that I will have to keep my cats from using as a chew toy/stealing it, because the wretches do things like that), and one for an independent bookstore I’d never heard of, and which I will now buy probably far too much from. These bookmarks will now join the metal tea tin I have filled to bursting with my bookmark hoard collection.
Well, now I’m probably going to have to rearrange the reading order of the TBR mound next to my bed to put these two books close to the top. So thank you once again!
