Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair

March 14, 2014 by Jen K Leave a Comment

While it took me a long time to actually start this series, I was quickly sucked up in it, and have been looking forward to this third release of The Lunar Chronicles. While Cinder, the cyborg Cinderella, is definitely the main character of the series, each book introduces or focuses on a new modernized and reimagined fairy tale heroine. Cress, the story’s Rapunzel, had a brief appearance in Cinder as a Lunar hacker that helps Cinder, but this novel develops on the story of the […]

Cress’ tower is a satellite. She has no way to let down her hair.

February 15, 2014 by Malin 2 Comments

4.5 stars This is the third book in a series, and I would strongly recommend you don’t start with this one. This review will be here when you’re done. Crescent Moon, or Cress, as she’d prefer to be called, has spent the last seven years all alone on a satellite orbiting Earth, monitoring communications for the Lunar government and […]

A girl in a red hoodie and a tall, dark stranger go on a quest to find grandma

February 15, 2014 by Malin Leave a Comment

This is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles, and won’t really work so well if you haven’t read the first one. Start with Cinder, then come back and read this review when you’ve caught up. Really, you don’t want to be reading this review – it’s going to contain spoilers about the first book. Continue reading if you don’t mind, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Scarlet Benoit needs to find her grandmother, who disappeared without a trace a few weeks ago. Her ID chip […]
