Lost and Found by Tarah DeWitt

Not the review I was expecting to write

Lost and Found by Tarah DeWitt

I was really expecting this to be a strong 4 star read, instead I’m rounding up to 3 stars. The things I didn’t like, someone else will love, I’m sure. But the last 20-25 % of the book took me from “this book is imperfect but I’m enjoying it” to “oh no, I don’t like this.” I’ve read a lot of romance novels that beautifully incorporate grief into the arc of one or more characters. After Left of Forever, my expectations were that Tarah DeWitt […]

A Tale of Two Second Chances

Rewind it Back by Liz Tomforde

Left of Forever by Tarah DeWitt

July 2, 2025 by frogbandocto Leave a Comment

This year, two of my favourite romance authors were slated to release new books with the same central conceit: a second chance romance. Lucky for me, it’s one of my favourite tropes. Unluckily for me, I am very picky about it. Both books, Tarah DeWitt’s Left of Forever and Liz Tomforde’s Rewind it Back also happened to come out on the same day, so I was comparing the two even before I had either in my hands. Thankfully for me, I enjoyed both of them, […]

Cover of Tarah DeWitt’s Left of Forever

And right then and there, I knew there was hope. I’ve never grabbed on to a feeling so fast or so tight.

Left of Forever by Tarah DeWitt

Tarah DeWitt’s Left of Forever, is a lovely second chance after divorce romance. I love a good second chance romance, and especially one that is post divorce. They are such a great canvas for exploring hope, growth, acceptance, and forgiveness. Left of Forever does that all well with big heaps of yearning and one of my favorite microtropes, a man who goes to therapy. Left of Forever is focused on character and jumps around a bit in time before we get to the reconciliation road trip. […]
