Fun and Sexy Contemporary Romance – A Series Autobuy

October 15, 2015 by Mrs. Julien 9 Comments

With the Wild Seasons series, the writing team known as Christina Lauren is hitting its stride. Stronger than the Beautiful series, each of these books features one of three childhood friends who have just finished university and are figuring out where their lives will go next. When a weekend in Vegas turns into three impulsive marriages, Mia, Harlow, and Lola react differently by staying married, getting it on then getting it annulled, and getting started on the annulment immediately. Lauren’s fun female friendships are included […]

It just keeps being awesome, you guys

September 29, 2015 by Malin 2 Comments

Saga is my favourite comic book of the last few years and I feel like I do nothing but spend my days waiting for a new trade paperback to come out. I managed to save volume five for an unprecedented nine days from buying it until I actually read it, because I know that it’ll probably be another six months at least until I get more. The writing is flawless, the art is breathtaking. The plot is never, even for a second, predictable. The six […]

A Funny Contemporary LGBT Romance

September 10, 2015 by Mrs. Julien 5 Comments

This is my first Australian romance, plus it’s about two men, neither of them are confused about their sexual preference, and it was written by a man. Huzzah! From Amazon: The most important things in Simon Murray’s life are football, friends, and film—in that order. His friends despair of him ever meeting someone, but despite his loneliness, Simon is cautious about looking for more. Then his best friends drag him to a party, where he barges into a football conversation and ends up defending the […]

Romance novels on audiobook are SO MUCH FUN YOU GUYS.

August 19, 2015 by narfna 12 Comments

Good god, people. This was an impulse audio checkout from the library, and it completely consumed every minute of free time I’ve had in the twenty-four hours after I checked it out. I’ve never read a romance novel on audio before, and it was so entertaining. This particular book was very charming and swoonworthy, and I ended up loving it. I mean, I was pathological about this book. I listened to it every chance I got. At one point, I for real snuck my iPhone […]

Needs more kidnappings. Or plot in general.

July 28, 2015 by crystalclear 4 Comments

I have no idea where this book even came from. I went out into my garage to get something, and it was sitting on a pile of books, and I thought, hey, why not?  I suppose I bought it at some point.  I hope it was at a garage/used book sale, because it certainly is not worth the price on the back!  (Who am I kidding, I probably had a coupon.  RIP, Borders.)   This started out as promising. Our main character, Lucia, is the […]

Even More New Adults in Romantical Situations

July 15, 2015 by Mrs. Julien 6 Comments

So many “new adult” romances, so little time. I recommend The Ivy Years series by Sarina Bowen and will be looking into her back catalogue. Taking place at a New England college, Harkness, the stories are not light and yet avoid melodrama. These are young people coming into their own and figuring out who they want to be. Each story features at least one character who is an athlete, mostly they are involved in hockey, but there are also soccer and basketball team members, and […]

I was agog after reading that sentence. Could not read on for five minutes. I mean, wtf.

“Skin covered finger bones”—that’s hilarious. This was a very satisfying review.
