Moss’d in Space by Rebecca Thorne

As your best friend and life support system, I require you to be less stupid.

Moss’d in Space by Rebecca Thorne

June 13, 2026 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Well this was delightful! I knew that I would enjoy Rebecca Thorne’s Moss’d in Space, narrated by Natalie Naudus and Dylan Reilly Fitzpatrick, but I was still surprised by how much. I liked Thorne’s Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea, though I thought it rambled a bit. Moss’d has the growing found family and community building of Treason, but it’s a much tighter story. I enjoyed every moment of it. In the far future, human live mostly on space stations and one planet (not Earth). Citizenship on the planet […]

Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne

Cozy magic and found families

Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne

December 24, 2025 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

I chose Rebecca Thorne’s Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea as the January fantasy book club selection for The Ripped Bodice LA. I love tea, cozy magic stories, and sapphic romances. Palace guard Reyna and royal mage Kianthe run away to open a tea shop in the town of Tawny. Reyna’s queen is quite horrible and would never let them be together. Through flashbacks, we learn how they met unexpectedly at a royal function. They had nighttime rendezvous for a while, but yearn to move in […]

“You like tea. I like books, Aren’t you glad we opened a shop and forgot the world exists?”

Alchemy and a Cup of Tea (Tomes & Tea Book Four) by Rebecca Thorne

August 24, 2025 by bjornsnipe Leave a Comment

To all the publishing professionals who deal with my terrible sense of humor and impulsive nature-for without their guidance, I would have enthusiastically titled this book F**k It, Let’s Try Coffee– Author’s Dedication All Reyna wanted at the end of Tea You At the Altar was a nice night unwinding with a relaxing cup of tea. Instead, she got kidnapped and dragged off to an abandoned watch tower with a strange alchemy circle hidden under the floorboards. Luckily, Kianthe’s rescue of her goes off without […]

Cozy romantasy in which game night is the wildest part

Tea You at the Altar by Rebecca Thorne

Bingo 3: TBR I recently saw book four in the tetralogy at an airport bookstore, and realized that I still had book 3 on my TBR shelf (literally, physical book on actual shelf). Tea You at the Altar is book 3 of the Tomes and Tea series, and like the two previous volumes is a cozy romantasy. Kind of fitting actually, since I’m pretty sure I picked up book 1 in an airport as well. This time, the story is less about the tea and […]

“There’s beauty in the menial. Life is nothing but a series of quiet tasks with people we love. Isn’t it?”

Tea You At the Altar (Tomes & Tea Book Three) by Rebecca Thorne

Somewhere in the world, there is someone who will bake you cookies and buy you swords and fight your dragons. Never give up. This continues to be an enjoyable series; I’m sorry it has only one more book to go. It starts out with Kianthe and Reyna deciding to multitask; if they’re getting married, why not add overthrowing Queen Tiliane, Reyna’s former boss, into the mix? Sure, their baby dragons are hatched and causing chaos in Tawney, Kianthe’s uptight parents who she hasn’t spoken to […]

“To the people who gave me one-star reviews because the first book “had lesbians.” I doubled the lesbians in this one. Just for you.”

A Pirate’s Life For Tea by Rebecca Thorne

May 1, 2025 by bjornsnipe 1 Comment

You have to love any book where the main plot boils down to “four lesbians, with help from varied cast of characters aggravate obnoxious local politician while navigating their relationships”. Leaving their cozy bookshop/home for any plant Kianthe can reasonably (or not so reasonably) cram into its confines behind on their quest to recover the stolen dragon eggs, Kianthe and Reyna crash the garden party of Diarn Arlon, the powerful lord of the Nacean River. With the firm belief that what he wants he gets, […]
