Love Feud by Janine Amesta

The Third Moreno Sister’s Story

The Love Feud by Janine Amesta

July 20, 2026 by faintingviolet Leave a Comment

Late last summer and early fall I read the first two books of Janine Amesta’s Love in the Air series and had a great time. Due to oversights that are entirely my doing, the third and final book in the series went unread until June of this year. However, I was VERY glad to have this book on vacation in June, so there’s that.   The Love Feud is the story of the youngest Moreno sister, Hailey. There has been a bit of a time jump since the end of The Wedding Con and we are now a few years away from […]

Shrunkation by Janine Amesta

This is a great example of trusting an author you know you enjoy even when the concept doesn’t initially grab your attention. I’m on Janine Amesta’s advanced reader list having loved Love at First Flight and The Wedding Con (The Love Feud is currently sitting on my end table waiting for me). Initially the description of Shrunkation didn’t grab me, but I know I like Amesta’s way of building characters and I’m always a least a little intrigued by a marriage in trouble romance, so I went in hoping for the best.   What I think Amesta nailed here is that a […]

I don’t think I’d want to be trapped in a giant empanada

Shrunkation by Janine Amesta

3.5 stars This was an ARC I received from the author, Janine Amesta. My opinions are my own. Catalina and Trey’s marriage is in trouble. Catalina is exhausted from her demanding work, nearing burnout, and incapable of forgetting some foolish and hurtful things Trey said to her months ago. She’s feeling unappreciated and ignored, not to mention misunderstood. Trey knows that he screwed up, but he thinks all they need is some quality time together. He won a weekend stay at a luxury resort in […]

Shrunkation by Janine Amesta

This was how Trey was going to die, a speck of a man flung from a cardboard box flap like a booger.

Oh no! Shrunkation awakened my inner nerd. Let me do a quick tldr before I dive into my appreciation for Janine Amesta’s craft. Shrunkation is fun and funny. One of my favorite things in romance is when an author takes a bananas plot and uses it to dive into very real relationship dynamics. This is a marriage in trouble romance in which a desperate attempt at a romantic getaway turns into a desperate attempt to survive. On to the nerdery! This review is a bit […]

Love Feud by Janine Amesta

Don’t forget to let yourself live your life. You deserve it just as much as anyone else.

The Love Feud by Janine Amesta

March 26, 2026 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I’ve been looking forward to The Love Feud for months, and it lived up to my expectations. Hailey and Ry are sweet and messy. Their fake feud to draw attention to the hot air balloon festival is a delightfully flimsy excuse to spend time together. Robert Moreno’s death upended the lives of each of his three daughters. If you haven’t read Love at First Flight and The Wedding Con yet, now is a good time. In the immediate aftermath, David Selene, the owner of a […]

A sweet second chance romance in these depressing times

The Love Feud by Janine Amesta

March 24, 2026 by Malin Leave a Comment

Disclaimer! This was an ARC from the author. My opinions are my own. Hailey Moreno thought it was quite exciting to be secretly dating the son of her family’s company’s chief rival, but once her father died, and said rival (with the help of his son) tried to offer to buy the Moreno’s air balloon business, she felt deeply betrayed and told Ryland Selene to take a hike. Four years later, she still hasn’t told her mother or any of her sisters that she used […]
