Why does Superman always get top billing?

Superman's Good Guy Gang by Rob Justus

March 26, 2025 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

Perhaps I should not admit I read something like Superman’s Good Guy Gang by Rob Justus as it is, well, a bit on the less than mature side. This is not for the adult reader who likes a more sophisticated book, but if your child (or you) are a typical five to eight-year-old who has a slightly goofy sense of humor and likes superheroes then this is for you. So, in other words I will admit I read it and say I know there’s an […]

Green Lantern: Alliance by Min Le

September 19, 2023 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

If you like superheroes and especially DC superheroes, you should try some of the (to me) less popular ones, like Green Lantern. We followed the origin story of Tai Pham in Green Lantern: Legacy also by Min Le and Andie Tong. With Green Lantern: Alliance (including Sarah Stern,Carrie Strachan, and Saida Temofonte) we see how Tai is trying to balance school, his […]

The Man Who Laughs

May 2, 2018 by Halbs Leave a Comment

Brubaker’s The Man Who Laughs is generally highly regarded as a great Joker story. I don’t get it. Maybe I don’t get the appeal of the Joker, because I also didn’t like Grant Morrison’s Arkham Asylum and people lose their minds over that one, as well. Well, it’s up to you. Just know that it wasn’t for me. Fortunately, Brubaker’s Joker story is only half of this particular collection. The back half of this trade paperback also includes Detective Comics #784-786, which is an awesome short run […]
