Written by costumer, Michele Clapton herself, the book is almost as long and comprehensive as GRRM’s series. In preparation for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, I purchased this rather large tome from Martin, along with Elio Garcia Jr. & Linda Antonsson (the people behind A Wiki of Ice and Fire). If you’re a Song of Ice and Fire fan, you’ve got to read this, no questions asked. It’s a detailed history of how the Targaryen takeover of Westeros actually happened. First things first: I’m going to be that person. I first read A Game of Thrones in 1998, and I was primed for the experience. I cut my teeth on Tolkien before devouring all the epic fantasy I could get my teenage hands on.
