Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

The Seeds by Ann Nocenti

January 28, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

The Seeds is WARPED!  I was reading it a few nights ago and texting to a friend about it. I told them at that point (a handful of pages in), we had destroyed Earth to the point where much of the population has left the technology side of the city and gone “back to basics.” Yet, this is no lovefest, happy back-to-nature world. Just lie the technology side is just horrible as any dystopian world could be, it is pig-eat-pig world out there. On the […]

Bro. Bro. Bro. Hey, Bro.

November 7, 2015 by narfna Leave a Comment

Bittersweet ending here, as Matt Fraction’s run on Hawkeye comes to an end, but it’s a good end. It’s been almost a month since I read this, so this review will not be great. Additionally, I read it and five other comics as part of the Dewey’s Read-a-thon, and fading real fast into the night. I was loopy and barely remember most of what I read during that period. But with that disclaimer out of the way, this was a good last volume. The first […]

Bro and Ladybro Take Bed-Stuy

Bro. I have to tell you about these comics, bro. It’s about the story, bro, and the art, bro. Just, bro. You have to read these, bro. (I’m stopping now. I promise, that will make more sense once you read the comics.) I don’t remember when I started hearing about Fraction and Aja’s Hawkeye, since they started a few years ago. It might have been online, it might have been my like-minded friend who’s always telling me about what she’s reading. All I knew is that […]

Bro, what are you, bro?

August 18, 2015 by Emmalita 4 Comments

Why wasn’t this Clint Barton in the Avengers movies? Seriously? This Clint Barton is awesome!!! Have I told you about how I have a thing for (fictional) bad boy, smartass, not fully on the right side of the law heros? Matt Fraction’s Clint Barton is exactly that. He doesn’t really consider himself one of the Avengers, and he’s no Captain America boyscout do-gooder, but he does do the right things. He does them with arrows and attitude. This run isn’t about Clint being Hawkeye the […]
