Go ahead, break that 4th wall.

My daughter just informed me that B.J. Novak has a “robot’s name”.  That might explain how he doesn’t seem to age.

Proud Mary

December 14, 2014 by Robyn Robotron Leave a Comment

When I clicked on the Amazon page for this book, I was shocked.  The cheapest they have it listed is $28.05, when it has $9.99 printed on the back.  I guess that’s cheaper than a trip to Long Beach, but as I wouldn’t recommend this book for anything other than a souvenir, you should probably spend your money on a different book.

“Orange” you glad I didn’t say banana?

December 14, 2014 by Robyn Robotron Leave a Comment

“Orange” is the title of the Neil Gaiman story included in this book, and as it was his name on the cover that got be to buy it in the first place, I thought it should get some sort of mention.  While I enjoyed that story, it wasn’t my absolute favorite, so I left it out of my review.

A historical romance with kissing and scheming guardians

December 14, 2014 by Malin 4 Comments

Sixteen year old Helena de Stansion, Comtesse D’Lisle, is spending Christmas Eve wandering around the gardens of the convent where her sister is recuperating from illness when a man suddenly drops down into the convent garden pretty much on top of her. Assuming the man is fleeing from something clandestine, she lies to the nuns and the guards when the approach her to ask if she’s seen someone on the grounds. As a thank you for protecting him, the handsome stranger gives her a kiss. […]

Rachel Morgan: A Good Witch & Tough as Nails Bounty Hunter

December 14, 2014 by teresaelectro 2 Comments

Whilst perusing the sci-fi/fantasy section of my library, I stumbled across the 2nd book in Kim Harrison’s Hollows series. Absentmindedly, I was half way through it before realizing it wasn’t the introductory book. As reading more books is a better move for any cannonball participant, I switched over to Dead Witch Walking ASAP. We’re introduced to a leather clad Rachel Morgan on a Leprechaun stake out in a seedy Cincinnati bar. She’s a white earth witch who relies on her wits and if all else fails […]

With so many exciting parts of the American Revolution you could have written about, Diana, why is there so much boring in the first half of this book?

December 14, 2014 by Malin 5 Comments

Disclaimer! If you haven’t read the previous six books in the series, there will be minor spoiler in this review. Proceed at your own risk.  Having finally completed my epic re-read of the previous books in the series at a page count total that is frankly obscene, I finally got to read a new to me Diana Gabaldon. When this book first came out in 2009, I just didn’t have the energy to expend on re-reading the whole series to catch up and I decided […]
