What a treat to arrive back in the good ol’ US of A to find the following waiting for me from the thoughtful LanierHgts! My request this year was “anything fantasy/sci-fi/fiction…really what would be helpful is books on London culture, as I could do some research before I move(!) next year…but that’s onerous, so see above!” I should have known better, that a Cannonballer never shies away from the harder ask. While I haven’t kept up with Bill Bryson’s latest works as much, A Short History […]
Book Exchange Love
A huge thank you to Bibliophile for my Book Exchange gifts! I’ve been remiss in posting and actually already managed to finish reading Legends and Lattes (and loved it!). Happy reading to all, and to all a good night!
Book mail from Mythili! :D
Went on a little bit of a journey here! Mythili bought one of my books from a second party sender who didn’t put the note in that she requested, so I was like 80% positive that my Book Exchange book had arrived, and 20% scared I had a stalker, but Emmalita helped me figure it out, so then I could be relieved the the BEAUTIFUL book I was sent was from a friendly. Here is the first book that arrived, which I was sure would […]
Thank you, Emmalita! Dragons and Wizards and Shit would make an excellent 90’s band name.
“Packaged arrived.” “Huh, I don’t think I’m expecting anything,” Dome’Loki says. “Wait a minute,” as she dashes out the door. “Yes! It’s my Cannonball book exchange!” Dome’Loki clutches the package and rushes back into the house. Excitedly she opens it, careful not to damage anything. Inside is a delightful surprise of two books, a pair of perfect socks, and Cannonball Read stickers. Gazing at them, Dome’Loki, feels a rush of gratitude to Emmalita and the Cannonball community for continuing this wonderful tradition. In all seriousness, […]
Book Mail from narfna!
Thank you so much to narfna for my awesome presents. I’ve been waiting to read Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, but the hold list for it at my local libraries is ridiculous. I’m excited to dive into it. And A Strange and Stubborn Endurance sounds like it’s right up my alley. Plus one can never have enough bookmarks. Thank you so much again! It was so fun to find these waiting for me in the mailbox, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy them.
Book Mail from ElCiccio!
Thank you so much ElCiccio! I’ve had my eye on both of these books for a good bit, and I’m excited to dig into them. I already know Picnic at Hanging Rock is going to thoroughly creep me out, so hopefully The Golem of Brooklyn will help me recover. The bookish Christmas tree ornament is so cute too, and the card is so pretty! Alfie and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
