The Lions of Al-Rassan

The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay

January 4, 2014 by Lizbth Leave a Comment

A bout of insomnia the night before last made me pick up this book and give it another read. It had been long enough that I forgot most of the details of the plot, and I found it an enjoyable and easy read. I gave it 4 stars. Review is here:

The Sandman 10: The Wake by Neil Gaiman

January 3, 2014 by Lisa Bee Leave a Comment

I’m not sure why it took me so long to finish Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, after the first volume grabbed my attention and imagination so thoroughly. But slowly, as I read through more instalments, I saw that the series was scattered with highs and lows. The Raven Boys – Solid paranormal YA.

The Raven Boys has been on my list of books to read for quite some time. I finally got a copy and, at first, wasn’t sure what to make of it. It jumped around between three or four characters a lot in the first few chapters, but once it finished the set […]

BrittaneyNichole #CBR6 Review #1

Revealed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

January 2, 2014 by BrittaneyNichole Leave a Comment

The book Revealed is book number 11 in the House Of Night series.  These books are for young adults and I started reading the series when I was 18.  I figure since there’s only 1 more book after this one I might as finish out the series and see how it all ends.  The basic gist of the series is good vampires and other creatures (representing Light) and evil vampires and other creatures (representing Darkness) are fighting each other for power. I wasn’t looking forward […]
