As Charlotte is navigating her return to polite society, her family wanting to reconnect, and her and Wrexford’s recent admission of romantic feelings for one another, the pair are drawn into a new investigation.  Their new friend Lady Cordelia seems to be caught up in a dubious scheme and may have dragged Kit into it as well.  When a murder at the docks happens and Cordelia’s brother becomes a likely suspect, Wrexford and Charlotte start looking into things, but it becomes clear that their foe […]

Murder At Kensington Palace by Andrea Penrose

Charlotte and Wrexford are drawn into a new investigation when Charlotte’s cousin, Cedric, is murdered and his twin brother, Nicholas, is arrested for the crime.  Charlotte is convinced that Nicholas is innocent and dives head on into the investigation even though it requires her to return to society and an identity she thought she left behind.  But this mystery may stymie both Charlotte and Wrexford, and time is running out if they want to save Nicholas from the gallows. A lot of the focus in […]

When Wrexford and Kit stumble across a dead body on their way home from an evening of cards and dice, Wrexford is determined to stay out of the matter and let the proper authorities handle it.  However, the widow of the man comes calling the next day, asking him to investigate the matter as her husband Elihu Ashton, an inventor, thought highly of Wrexford’s scientific work, and she believes he was murdered in order to steal his latest invention.  Charlotte gets pulled in both due […]

The Earl of Wrexford is more interested in chemistry than society or his reputation.  So when the satirist A. J. Quill skewers his current conflict with an anti-science preacher, Wrexford doesn’t much care.  However, when said preacher is murdered and Bow Street decides that he’s the most likely culprit, Wrexford sets out to clear his name, and since Quill seems always know details that no one else does, he plans on tracking down the cartoonist.  Charlotte Sloane took up her husband’s trade after his death […]

Book Mail from narfna!

Thank you so much to narfna for my awesome presents.  I’ve been waiting to read Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, but the hold list for it at my local libraries is ridiculous.  I’m excited to dive into it.  And A Strange and Stubborn Endurance sounds like it’s right up my alley.  Plus one can never have enough bookmarks. Thank you so much again!  It was so fun to find these waiting for me in the mailbox, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy them.
