KB's Reviews:

A book of letters

September 18, 2018 by KB 2 Comments

What a book! What a surprise! This book was recommended to me from a lady in my book club. So I begun reading the book and at first was appalled. I am an avid reader, and I pretty much inhale books. So I despise anything that slows down my reading, such as lack of proper punctuation (Tim Winton), short sentences, odd formats – such as letters. However I persevered with this novel, and by the time I was 1/3 of the way through the […]

A Mess of a Book

September 16, 2018 by KB Leave a Comment

I’m sorry to have to write a bad review, but I hated this book.  And what is really disappointing is that the concept is great, but the delivery is appalling. The story is basically about a 19 year old boy who has a car crash and there are two dead bodies in his car (dead before the car accident). He says he killed them, however he is not convincing. Who actually killed these two adults and why is this kid taking the blame. That […]

When you’re a debt filled nuisance…

August 13, 2018 by KB Leave a Comment

This is the second Ann Granger book that I have read, and I’m pleased to say that it is on par with her last. Ann Granger is definitely the author for people who enjoys mysteries but don’t like to think too much. And I say that not as an insult, but as a compliment. I personally enjoy a good mystery that I can sink my teeth into and try and unravel all of the threads that continue to appear. However, every now and again […]

Boston’s Supernatural side

August 13, 2018 by KB Leave a Comment

Not what I expected!! I have not read any other books by Heather Graham, so I was not prepared for this. Having no knowledge of the ‘Krewe of Hunters” I was exceptional freaked out when ghosts started appearing in this book. It soon became apparent that that is what the Krewe of Hunters do – they are a branch of the FBI that solve crimes with the assistance of ghosts. Once I established this, the book became a lot more palatable. I don’t mind […]

A murder in a rich family.

August 13, 2018 by KB Leave a Comment

I loved this book! A fantastic suspense novel that kept me enthralled, curious, engaged and completely surprised. The pace of the book was perfect, drip feeding clues and slowly revealing more information. An excellent balance between the main crime and building characters, back stories, more mysteries and intriguing characters. The story follows the finding of a rich girl, Andrea, murdered and found underneath a frozen lake. We are introduced to the main detective Erika Foster as she returns to work and is put on […]

What would you do if you found a bag of money?

August 3, 2018 by KB Leave a Comment

A great read despite a few flaws. This book follows a couple as they go on their honeymoon and find a bag full of money. What do they do? What would you do? Turn it in or keep it for yourself?? This book follows the couple through their daily lives and challenges and how that is impacted with the discovery of the bag of money. The pros to this story for me involved a few things. Firstly, great characters being introduced into the novel (through […]
