The Assassin’s Blade is a collection of 5 prequel novellas about the year in Celaena Sardothian’s life that took her from the King of the Assassin’s heir apparent to a prisoner in a salt mine. If you want a better, more comprehensive, review (with gifs!) of each novella, please read kdm’s review. One of the things I liked best about Celaena in this collection was how teenagery she was. I liked that Maas allowed Celaena to be unlikeable, slappable and a pain in the ass […]
I wish I had known teen assassin was a career option
My reasons for loving the Cannonball Read are legion. One of them is finding new books, series, and authors. Baxlala reviewed Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorn and Roses and mentioned that Maas had another series that was further along. I checked out Amazon and ended up buying Throne of Glass mostly because it was cheap (I am poor). I love a good YA book and really appreciate that the genre has so many awesome female protagonists. I enjoyed Throne of Glass tremendously. We […]
If Randall Munroe Invites You to Rhode Island, Don’t Go.

The Score is the third book in Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series. The series explores the lives and loves of four college hockey players, who share a house – off campus. Elle […]
Caged and enraged!
A woman is running through a crowded street, apologizing and asking people to let her pass. A man is waiting impatiently in a room and begins to count down from 10. In the background you can see snippets of words and ads – “Less of you to love” “Fix you” “Obey.” The woman runs in the door, apologizing and asking, “who am I this time?” If you can hear the woman’s voice, you are on your way to BITCH PLANET! I read ElCicco, SavageCat and […]
