Charlie Woodgrain isn’t interested in magic and is far more interested in her training to be a librarian. It’ll be a quiet life, but that’s fine with Charlie. Magic is summoned through conflict, and she would like to avoid that to the point where she refuses to fight. Then her birth father shows and drags her to the king’s court putting her on a collision course with the prince. Prince Leopold is gifted in the noble arts of diplomacy and combat, but he’s never met anyone like Charlie. Of course, that now means he’s ignoring that fact that he’s supported to be rescuing Princess Robin from a tower as her mother, the evil witch queen has arranged a marriage between Leopold and Robin. So Charlie sets off to rescue Robin herself and find that’s just the beginning of her adventures.
This is another webcomic that is now available in print, and it is an utter delight. There’s so much to love about it. The characters are all a delight. Every one of them so far is interesting and helps move the story along. The world building is fascinating, and since the quest has to do with the magic of the world, many of the mysteries that are currently there may be things we get to explore. The art is wonderful and suits the story so well. The color palette really compliments the tone of the story, and all of the character designs fit incredibly well wit the characters. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who liked fantasy, D&D, or adventure stories, and I can’t wait to see where things go in the next volume. One of the best things about this book is the fact that I can’t seem to predict where it’s going. Five out of five stars.
