I tried to get into this and just gave up. I think it’s just because the story itself which sounded interesting (your soulmate dies [Gu], you eat them [Dam]) just ended up not really being what I was being sold which said this was a horror novel. And the portion I finished didn’t read as horror. If anything it just read as sad. I think it was also hard to get into because of the book jumping back and forth between Dam and Gu and the narratives just feeling off. It didn’t help that I had an ARC so it was hard at times to tell who was speaking and I had to wait several sentences to figure it out. I think at one point there’s a ghost? I don’t know. I just gave up
