Now, with the book report part over, that means I can just gush and complain. Complaining because it was over too soon. Complaining because I was not sure of everything I was reading on that “cosmic” level or the AI information and/or sections. Gushing because it is a love story even I can get behind (even if it’s potentially a little kinky…but hey! I don’t kink shame!) Gushing because it was well written, funny, and clever, yet with a simplicity that is charming. Complaining because there were two characters who looked the same to me (and possibly that was because of their personality connection). Complaining because I am envious of the apartment Clem has. Gushing because there is humor that is not over the top corny, but fun. Gushing because that library was gorgeous (and the owls that assist you while you are there? Calling Harry Potter! Your owls are so yesterday!) And both gushing and complaining that nobody was overly fleshed out, allowing you to make your own choices to who they are, but allowing them to decide for themselves.
Overall, I cannot say this was the best ever book; the worst ever book; or even the middlest ever book. It is what it is. It is something we each experience in our own ways. If you are not in the right mindset, that will throw you off. I was reading via an online reader copy (physical copies are avia able), during my lunch. Some days I was right there, others I felt things dragged on. I both like and dislike everyone. There was a supporting character I would have liked to see a little more of, but maybe she’ll have her own story. But with that said I do not want a sequel. I need to pretend that the ending that happens is the only one and they are now frozen in time.
