Okay, so I like bats. I mean I am not learning everything I can about them, or anything like that, but I have read a little about them, like a good fiction story about them, wonder why they and vampires got together. But when I finished Addie and the Amazing Acrobats, I was also thinking, maybe raccoons should not be in a flying acrobatic group.
You see, Shauna Cagan has these three bats, Addie, Ben, and Jude who fly and do amazing tricks (flips, flops, twists, and turns). But when Addie gets a chance to join a circus (but not with the other two), she just cannot, will not leave her friends behind, as they are too close! Friends forever!
Okay, that is a lie, she so went for it. And of course, she has a fantastic time, until she realizes that her friends are better than fame and fortune. But her friends hadn’t given up, they replaced her with a racoon. So, you will see why a raccoon shouldn’t be in an Acrobat group.
Mid-September 2023 will see this quirky book (read via online reader copy), with its equally quirky, fun, cute, somewhat colorful (I mean there is a red bridge, but a lot of action does happen at night for obvious reasons), illustrations. The cover pretty much can be your reference for the images, but the text has a little more to it. It is best for the at least five and up crowd. The younger group can make up their own story to go along with things and could be read to a group or one-on-one.
