Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to read and review Stacked, because the author is a dear friend, but no need to worry! It was thoroughly enjoyable.
A couple of things really stood out to me as I read this first installment of the Devil’s Bastards MC series:
First, the author can impart a hell of lot of information about the protagonists during their meet cute. Both characters were immediately likable, which I really appreciated. None of this tortured alphahole who must be redeemed crap.
Seriously. Not too long after the meet cute, they run into each other at a bar. The female lead is seriously tipsy and spewing “Wikipedia word vomit” all over anyone who tries to approach her. It’s really hilarious. Our male lead makes sure to get her home safely and then refuses sex because she’s clearly incapacitated. I love this guy already!
Second, I believe this author has actually spent time with members of a MC, not just watched Sons of Anarchy five too many times.
Third, boom chica wow wow. You will NOT be disappointed with the naughty bits. You may want to have a glass of wine handy while you read. The tips of your fingers will singe. Read this delightful bonbon. You will not regret it.
PS – I yearn for a purple people eater of my own. It was lovely to have someone acknowledge that women of a certain age often have an appreciation for such things.
