Rainbow Rowell meets Star Wars.

April 10, 2016 by narfna 6 Comments

So first, funny story. I’m sure many of you have similar ones, but I’mm’a share anyway. I ordered my copy of this book from Book Depository. I paid $4.18, for shipping I assumed, since World Book Day books are free. I was fine with this. I waited weeeeeks for my copy to get here, as it was coming from the UK; luckily a friend with a similar problem sent me a copy by mail so I got to read this before my copies arrived. Yes, […]

Thank you, Faintingviolet!

March 31, 2016 by Sophia 1 Comment

Kindred Spirits (2016) by Rainbow Rowell is more of a short story than a novel. Clocking in at just over sixty pages, it’s a fun, quick, tale. I was wondering whether I even wanted to bother writing a review for something I could read so quickly. In the end I decided it was worth it because I wanted to thank Faintingviolet for sending me this book! There is nothing like opening your mailbox to an unexpected, (because I forgot it was coming) brand-new book from one […]

4.5 stars Elena is a huge Star Wars fan, but was too young to camp out in a queue when the prequels were released. She nontheless lives and breathes for the sci fi films and has heard all about her father’s experiences with camping out in his day, so when the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, is about to open, she decides that now she’ll finally have the chance to experience the same sense of geekery, fandom and community that she’s heard and […]

Short But Very Sweet

March 26, 2016 by faintingviolet 2 Comments

I am the World Book Day Book Fairy. I thought I ordered one copy of the book; I actually received closer to 4 dozen from the book depository. I am not the only person this happened to, as the internet has let me know, and somehow I think it was on purpose, that we were led to believe we were getting one, and got so many more so that we would have the opportunity to send the book further out into the world. I had […]
