Steel Prince conclusion

Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince vol. 3 - The Rebel Army by V.E. Schwab (author), Andrea Olimpieri (artist)

“The Steel Prince” graphic novels can be read standalone without having read the “The Shades of Magic” novels but I’m not certain how well that works as the graphic novels don’t spend time on the magic system, and magic is a vitally important part of this world setting.  Though mileage may vary, my friend was introduced to Schwab through the individual comic issues of this series and enjoyed it without prior knowledge. The Rebel Army is the final volume in V.E. Schwab’s, “The Steel Prince” […]

More story than fits the format but exciting nonetheless

Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince vol. 2 - Night of Knives by V.E. Schwab (author), Budi Setiawan (artist)

May 20, 2020 by Dome'Loki Leave a Comment

There is an interview with Schwab in the back and in it she talks about turning a few sentences about […]

This book hijacked my TBR, no regrets

Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince - vol. 1 by V.E. Schwab (author), Andrea Olimpieri (artist)

February 16, 2020 by Dome'Loki Leave a Comment

When I shared my review of Vengeful on FaceBook, a friend chimed in asking if I knew about Schwab’s graphic novel series.  I had not and was intrigued.  Then my favorite independent celebrated its grand reopening, after moving locations, so I treated myself and picked up The Steel Prince.  The cover is eye catching and it instantly grabbed my attention. At the time, I was behind in review writing and had intended to read Spinning Silver, by Naomi Novik, once the reviews were written.  After just […]
