Inside Job was another novella I picked up from the Subterranean Press Humble Bundle (Like Amityville Horrible), and it deals with spiritualists and spiritualism, but that’s about it for what the two books have in common.
Crazy like Heaven
Since I was a bit disappointed with the last couple of books I read (one quite a bit more than the other), I thought it was time to go Crazy for a while. Good old Crazy. I love Crazy. I know I shouldn’t. It’s a small, backwater, two-stoplight one-horse kind of town. (Kindle Edition, Location 42)
A Disaster at the end of this Book
I picked up this novella as part of a Humble Bundle sale, because there were other books I was more interested in reading. But it’s short (99 pages) and I figured since I just finished reading something a little bit on the heavier side I could use a little light reading. Alas. This was not the book I hoped it would be.
The title of this book is a euphemism for LJG investigating a dude who has syphilis on his peen.
I really didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did, even harboring affection Gabaldon’s Outlander books, and especially the character of Lord John Grey, whom I find to be adorable and heartbreaking. Books Set in Australia are Best on Audiobook
I recently listened to the audiobook of Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies, and it was wonderful. First, I love Australian accents, and I could happily listen to the narrator all day. Second, the book is just so dang well written . The relationships between all the characters is just wonderfully depicted, and I love how distinct the narrators’ three voices are. After finishing this, I had to immediately go out and get more of Moriarty’s books.

Good times with Miss Marple. I wish there would have been a bit more scenes with her, though. Maybe it’s just my own expectations of the role titular detectives should play in their own series, though. There is no written rule saying that the detectives must play the largest role in their books over other characters, it’s just what we’re used to.
