My Favorite Version of Beauty and the Beast Yet …

As Old as Time by Liz Braswell

December 21, 2019 by Jen K Leave a Comment

Given my love of reading, it always felt like I should like Belle and Beauty and the Beast much more than I did.  Maybe it was timing, since I saw it when I had started transitioning to life action mostly and didn’t want to watch kids’ stuff.  Maybe it’s simply that I hated the color yellow at that age.  Either way, it’s never been one of my favorite Disney stories or even fairy tales. When Mothers Do Curses

As Old As Time by Liz Braswell

July 15, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

Wow. This was a great re-telling of “Beauty and the Beast”. I loved the whole idea behind this book with the great enchantress from the stories being Belle’s mother. And reading about magical people who were afraid since they were being persecuted by those who were “normal”. The development of Belle and the Beast was great and I actually bought that Belle fell in love with him in this one. They were a great duo. Braswell changes things up a bit with the introduction of […]
