I love watching an author grow

Calling the Shots by Kelly Farmer

November 9, 2022 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Kelly Farmer’s Calling the Shots is a solidly entertaining and emotional contemporary sapphic romance. This is the third in her On the Ice series about professional women’s hockey players. She’s gotten stronger and more confident with each book. The characters are more comfortably layered and complex and the push/pull of Regan and Tierney relationship flows easily, even the third act break-up. Regan Lane has gone from being a professional women’s hockey megastar, to an assistant coach for a middling professional men’s hockey team. She has […]

Enemies to Lovers, Hockey Style

Unexpected Goals by Kelly Farmer

November 2, 2021 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Maisy Goode and Jenny Donato have had a public beef after an incident in a game between Team Canada and Team USA […]

A Genuinely Sweet F/F Hockey Romance

Out on the Ice by Kelly Farmer

August 20, 2020 by Emmalita 1 Comment

Kelly Farmer’s debut, Out on the Ice, is a sweet f/f romance. Hockey romance is a surprisingly large subset of m/m romance. When I saw a women’s hockey romance on NetGalley, I was delighted. I got this as an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Amy Schwartzbach is a professional hockey player with the National Women’s Hockey League team the Boston Ice. Caro Cassidy has been retired for a few years and has opened up a hockey focused ice rink for girls, […]
