Episode 1-39: Marvel Doesn’t Care About Black Humor

October 16, 2018 by prisco Leave a Comment

https://killingmykindle.com/2018/10/16/episode-1-39-marvel-doesnt-care-about-black-humor/ Wherein I review: 146. The Labyrinth of Spirits (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books #4) by Carlos Ruiz Zafon 147. Lethal White (Cormoran Strike #4) by Robert Galbraith 148. Ambush (Michael Bennett #11) by James Patterson The Cemetery of Forgotten Books adds more blocks to the every growing library.  JK Rowling always does great relationships, and does procedurals as well as wizarding.  And Ten is Enough the Cop puts up a lackluster murder involving the Canadian Mob vs the Mexican Cartels. Also, I bitch a […]

And how Patterson and Pietro are clearly just done with the Women’s Murder Club and have written their equivalent […]

This was just bad

January 29, 2018 by Mikki Blu 2 Comments

This book has to be one of the worst I’ve read in a long time – I almost didn’t want to review it, but it’s one of those that you can hate review so easily I couldn’t resist. The premise of this book sounded promising: Las Vegas is a city of contradictions: seedy and glamorous, secretive and wild, Vegas attracts people of all kinds–especially those with a secret to hide, or a life to leave behind. It’s the perfect location for Lester Olsen’s lucrative business. […]

Cross, Cross, Cross …

November 17, 2016 by xoxoxoe 1 Comment

As I stated earlier, I have been reading a lot of James Patterson lately. I have so much happening on the home front these days that these mostly mindless mysteries have been somewhat soothing. But I think I’m done for a while. I thought that the books solo-authored by Patterson would be less factory-like, but alas, that doesn’t seem to be the case. As much as I liked the first novel featuring his African-American psychologist/detective Alex Cross, in the series, Along Came A Spider, the rest of […]

Along Came Another Patterson Book …

October 17, 2016 by xoxoxoe Leave a Comment

My cousin is on a James Patterson rampage, and has been dragging me along, mostly willingly. I have had so many things going on my life recently, that a lightning fast mystery read is about all that I can handle. in fact, I think it is proving a bit therapeutic. I can’t blame my multiple Pattersons completely on my cousin, however. His books are not just a quick read, but also mostly fun, whether written on his lonesome or with one of his many collaborators. […]
